Hospice of Amador & Calaveras offers services to the terminally ill of Amador, northern Calaveras, eastern San Joaquin and Sacramento Counties.

Hospice of Amador & Calaveras is an independent, not-for-profit healthcare provider started by local residents as a community-based volunteer hospice in 1982. It is licensed by the State of California Department of Health Services and is Medicare/MediCal certified. We receive financial support from Medicare, HMOs, MediCal and private insurance providers, which pay Hospice a per diem rate. These payments, however, fall short of actual costs and Hospice of Amador & Calaveras relies on the support of a growing community of donors to eliminate this shortfall.

We believe in everyone’s right to end-of-life care in comfort and dignity, and no one is denied hospice services due to a lack of insurance or inability to pay.
